In May 2017, Aleksander Schwarz from the Rabbinical Commission for Jewish Cemeteries in Poland conducted georadar analysis which confirmed location of a big mass grave at the Brzesko Jewish cemetery. It was also discovered that there is no grave under the 1947 monument commemorating about 200 Brzesko Jews murdered by Germans on June 18, 1942. Although it’s impossible to confirm it, we believe that those victims are buried in the newly located mass grave, Mr Schwarz marked the exact borderes of the grave, and in september 2017 put a temporary wooden matzeva there. We hope that within a year we will be able to commemorate this place with a proper monument.
