Waldman family

Jone Waldman, baker, was born in 1893, lived at Mickewicza street in Brzesko. Jone got married on June 27, 1922, to Chane Nachman, born in 1896, daughter of Szymon and Hinda Nachman from Izdebnik. They had 4 children: Szymon (1923), Basia (1925), Abraham (1927) and Markus (1932). Grandfather Szymon came from Izdebnik to Brzesko for the circumcision of his youngest grandson Markus (it’s after him that his eldest grandson was named).

Only Szymon survived the war, the rest of the family perished, most likely in Bełżec. Szymon emigrated to Israel, got married and had children there, but never spoke to his family about the Holocaust experiences. There are no material traces of the murdered Waldman family. The daughter of Szymon Waldman, Nava Waldman, visited Poland in 2018; she hopes to come to the March of Remembrance on September 15, 2019.
